Science

Spirituality is promoted throughout the teaching and learning of Science at Barnoldswick Church of England Primary School.  The curriculum allows children to investigate and explore the World around them. It provides children with ‘wow’ moments where they become aware of how the World works on many different levels, from how Forces impact our everyday lives to discovering the wonders of the animal kingdom and learning about their own bodies. With this learning children are more able to reflect on their role within the World community and form their own thoughts and opinions about their beliefs.  Examples of this are:

• Year 1 – learning about plants and being able to watch a plant grow.
• Year 3 – learning about Forces and how they impact our everyday lives.
• Year 6 – learning about animals and classifying them into different groups.
