At Barnoldswick Church of England Primary School, our vision is to create a happy, safe and exciting school where everyone can grow in confidence and be the best they can. The theological roots of our vision – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 – encourage us in all that we hope to be, enabling every part of our community to live and learn together with God in our hearts.
Underpinning our school vision, our Christian values form the guiding path framework on which we build our school community. The values drive our strategic decision-making, are embedded in our policies and practices and are at the heart of everything we do to ensure we:
Our six core school values which we continuously explore and celebrate are Friendship, Endurance, Service, Wisdom, Trust and Forgiveness.

We are very proud to be holders of the Lancashire Equality Mark. This mark is awarded to schools who have taken measures to embed Equality throughout their practice with the goal of preparing all pupils for life in modern Britain and enabling all pupils to flourish and thrive in a supportive learning community.
Collective Worship is placed at the centre of our school’s daily life and we have a very strong partnership with Holy Trinity Church. Our communities regularly join together and we particularly look forward to our Experience Sessions at Easter and Christmas and Messy Church activities.

This year, we are celebrating 6 years of taking part in the Archbishop’s Young Leaders Award. This initiative encourages pupils to become courageous advocates who see a need, implement a social action project and bring positive change through serving their community.
In keeping with our strong emphasis on promoting British values, we democratically elect a School Council each year. The council members then plan community activities and charity work. Past projects have supported our local West Craven Food Bank, Toilet Twinning in Nepal, Christian Aid and the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes.
